It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We put the Christmas tree up tonight. I was just going to put up a little one because our kiddos are still so little (and last year, I just got frustrated with Jackson taking off all the ornaments), but Brent talked me into our "big" one (that we've had since our Nebraska days). I'm glad we put it up. Jackson was SOOO excited. I was rolling listening to Jackson's comments during the process. Here's the top 5 Jackson comments of the night:

5) Mommy, Daddy made a big tree and it's beautiful! (Talking about putting the branches and lights on the artificial tree)

4) The Christmas tree is tall...like a giraffe. (I think it's 5'6")

3) Ashton got a big bonk. (As we took pictures and Ashton went face-first into the floor-Jackson isn't very patient with holding her)

Putting up the tree. It was a fun process (mostly because I "supervised" and Brent did all the manual labor). I love the smell of real trees, but during our first years of marriage, I think I killed 2 vacuums with all the fallen pine needles, so now we stick with the artificial make and model. I usually have some kind of Yankee Candle fragrance filling the pine void. I have to say that having children makes the process so much more fun. Now I just have to get our Christmas Cards mailed and we'll be set.
