The Big Boy Bed
Thursday February 14-
0645-Brent takes box spring and mattress to "new house". I instruct him to NOT set up the bedframe. I've heard from friends to expect falls, so Brent puts box spring and mattress directly on the ground.
1000-Jackson and I shop for "Big Boy Sheets" at Ross. Find suitable sports genre sheets that Jackson loves so much he refuses to let go of them during check out. Clerk graciously scans from across the checkstand. I am hopeful that initial bonding has occurred.
1030-Jackson and I go to "new house" and I introduce him to "Big Boy Bed". Jackson skeptically investigates.
Saturday February 16-
0900-Move occurs. Jackson sits on "Big Boy Bed" with babysitter and watches 'Cars' with portable DVD player. I am hopeful further bonding has occurred.
0945-Move complete. Brent, Jackson and I go to Babies R Us to obtain needed sports pillows to complete look of "Big Boy Bed".
1300-First actual sleeping on the bed occurs. It is preceded with "all done Big Boy Bed!", "No sleepies on Big Boy Bed". I sigh loudly. Somehow, nap does occur. Brent sets up crib in separate bedroom as a Plan B.
2000-First night of sleeping on "Big Boy Bed". Bedtime is again met with resistance.
2130-Jackson is ASLEEP! (Granted, he is sideways on the bed, but he is on the bed and ASLEEP).
2200-Brent hears a thud. Jackson is on the floor, half awake/half asleep. Brent puts Jackson back in bed.
Sunday February 17-
0730-Jackson is awake. Survived the night with only 1 fall!
1400-Nap (see nap from February 16...ditto)
2000-Second night of sleeping in the "Big Boy Bed". Less resistance.
0100-I hear thud. Jackson is on the floor, half awake/half asleep. I put Jackson back in bed. Brent and I decide siderail is in order.
Monday February 18-
0730-Jackson is awake. Survived the night with only 1 fall.
1000-Jackson and I make the trek to Walmart. I purchase siderail and cool bedspread that matches sports motif.
1300-Less resistance with nap.
2000-No resistance at bedtime. Unfortunately, did not have time to put siderail up, but I'm hopeful that MAYBE Jackson won't need it.
0100-I am up for pregnancy reasons. Check on Jackson. He is asleep and in bed! I am so glad I saved the receipt from Walmart because I'm convinced we'll be taking the siderail back.
0150-I hear a thud. Jackson is on the floor. I put "get siderail UP" on my "to do" list.
Tuesday February 19-
0800-Jackson is awake. I go in and snuggle/read with him in his "Big Boy Bed".
1300-Nap. NO RESISTANCE! Siderail is now assembled.
1530-Siderail on and ready for duty. Jackson is told it's a net for the football/soccerball/basketball. He is pacified.
2000-Bedtime. NO RESISTANCE!!! Siderail is up. I am hopeful.
2115-Jackson is asleep. I sigh.

Congrats on the baby to be! That transition from the crib to the bed is traumatic for me too. Looks like things are going well though.
Oh my goodness. . .that is such a huge step!! I'm glad it was a "easy" transition!
What a cute story! Jackson did so great. Glad to hear it went fairly smooth. Now show us some pictures of that baby belly!
