Our sweet boy had to have surgery (yeah, I know it LOOKS minor, but we're talking admission to the hospital, a gown-try getting your toddler in a gown-, general anesthesia, an IV, and a recovery room). We noticed a bump on the right side of his eye in December. I thought he had just taken a tumble off the bed, but the bump never resolved. We talked to our pediatrician about it at his 2 year check up, and he said we'd have to watch it, and if it didn't resolve, see a surgeon. The bump never resolved, and we were referred to a pediatric surgeon. She said it was a dermatoid cyst, something Jackson was born with, and if we didn't remove it, it would just get bigger. My wonderful mom was going to be in town, so we scheduled the surgery during her visit so we wouldn't have to take Ashton to the hospital with us. I'm glad this is over! Hopefully, Jackson won't remember much of the surgery, which is why we did it now.
Funny sidenote...Jackson's anesthesiologist was the wife of the anesthesiologist who did my epidural. They do GREAT work!

Nice black eye, kiddo!

We're happy to report we had our follow-up with the surgeon . The steri-strips are off, and Jackson is good as new! He now states, "The doctor fixed my eye".
