2 Years Old

Hard to believe, but yes-she's TWO!!!
Poor little girl has been playing with Lightning McQueen and dinosaurs (at least brother is sharing), but Brent and I decided she needed some girl toys, so the birthday was heavy on the princess theme.
Opening presents.
Finally...some dress up clothes. She called them "princess flip flops".
Princess dolls-slightly confused about what to do with those!
The present she liked the best was the medical kit. Go figure.
The cake.
She was very excited about the princesses.
Singing "Happy Birthday".
Gettting ready to cut the cake. The kids were so excited.
Jackson helping Ashton blow out the candles.
MMMMM!
Happy Birthday, Ashton!!
We love you!

EWWWW

We aerated the lawn the other day and when Ashton went outside she yelled, "Mommy, help! Poopies!"
She was not about to play out there!
Nope, not a chance.

Lunch Lady

Ashton found a shower cap the other day...A future Lunch Lady???

Princess Party

Ashton went to her first birthday party. It was for Sadie, a friend from nursery. She was a little confused as to why Jackson couldn't come, so Brent and I called it "A Princess Party" and told them both it was only for girls. We haven't quite reached the princess dress up stage yet, so she wore a church dress. She had a great time....

...playing with the hostess' toys! :)

Riverfest

It's the beginning of the summer events! We took the kids to Riverfest. They loved watching the kayakers in the river. Ashton was all about the swag. One of the fenders handed out bags and she wanted to carry it with all the free goods (like lip balm and sunscreen). They've had fun with the frisbees-Brent only had to get the ladder out and climb up on the roof one time!
Ashton and her swag.
Enjoying the kayak competition and fish crackers. It doesn't get better than this!

Zoo

The kids LOVE the Sierra Safari Zoo here. It's a small zoo, but the first Monday of every month they have free admission, so the price is right. The zoo has deer, mountain goats, tigers, lions, camels, leopards, monkeys, peacocks, rabbits, and zebras. You can buy "deer food" and feed the deer--which is a bit scary because the deer are fearless. Ashton and Jackson had a blast!
The kiddos.
It's a good thing it's been cold here because Ashton's favorite shoes are her snowboots.
Feeding the deer.
It's a good thing we stayed behind the fence to feed them. They are aggressive little beasts!
YUM!

Wedding Bells

The oldest grandchild in Brent's family got married in the Oakland Temple. We had such a great time seeing family and catching up! I remember Leslie at our wedding--has it really been 11 years? CRAZY! Here are some fun pictures of the trip.
We rented a minivan to accomodate more family. The kids were grinning from ear to ear from Reno to Sacramento. Luckily, Brent HATED it...and I'm glad I will never have to drive one! :)I love this picture of Ashton. Could this be her...in about 30 years???
Sweet kiddos-mine forever.
We LOVE playing with cousins. Jackson and Ashton are so lucky to have cousins so close in age. It's a BLAST! Here are Tyler and Jackson...
and Ashton and McKenzie (so jealous of the hair!).
The boys climbing the fence (of course).
Check out the view. Simply amazing!
Sweet Ashton.
Our family.
The gardens at the Oakland Temple are so amazing. Brent took me there while we were dating, and it was fun to take pictures of the kids there. I have such fond memories.
The gardens.
Daddy's girl.
Waiting for the Bride and Groom.
The family.
Dancing at the reception.
Hanging out with Kesslee (another cousin with hair).
Dancing with Daddy.
I must document this for posterity. This is my husband ACTUALLY dancing. We had so much fun. The kids were loving the music. We were loving watching them dance.
Jackson's got MOVES.

One More Instrument

We added another instrument to our home. Ashton is LOVING it. I hope she enjoys practicing this much is a few years. Brent is still wondering why he didn't just marry someone who played the flute. He says we can never move!!
(I have NO idea what the bib is about--she's been wanting to wear them lately)
Look at her little feet. She's such a doll!
Practice makes perfect.
