Photo Shoot

We had pictures done and got a sneak peak from the photographer. I think they turned out well. I can't believe how much Ryan's grown in 5 weeks!!! He looks a lot like Jackson did as an infant. Enjoy...

It took us forever to get this shot. He DID NOT want to be in the scale.
I'm a sucker for black and white shots!

I can't wait to see the rest of them......

Thankful

I was feeding Ryan early Friday morning, 11/18, when I noticed my phone was blinking. There were several text messages and emails from friends asking if we were OK. Brent and I had no idea that a fire had started near our home and our neighborhood was under voluntary evacuation. We immediately started following the news. The fire was spreading rapidly due to 40-60 mph winds. We were prepared to leave, if needed, but we were so blessed. Our home is standing due to valiant firefighting efforts and we are safe and healthy. More amazingly, no one in our Stake lost their home! We feel truly thankful for these blessings this Thanksgiving season.

The wind was relentless.
You can see the lines of demarcation where the fire was stopped.

We drove past this area on Sunday. This is about 1/2 mile from our home.

Again, too close for comfort.

It is truly a Happy Thanksgiving for our family.

Halloween Costumes

Halloween 2011

"The Little Mermaid" and "Darth Vader"

Jackson had just as much fun handing out candy as he did Trick-or-Treating.

Friends

The weekend before I had Ryan, my friend, Ipuna and her family came from Las Vegas. Ipuna and I are in the PhD program together, and we have been each other's support throughout this grueling process. We text or call each other every day. I can honestly say that God put Ipuna in my life to get me through this program.

We had a great time with Ipuna, KC, Kobi, Jy and Xayla and packed a lot into the weekend....Tahoe, the UNLV/UNR game, good food, great conversation, and even a little homework (yes, we are nerds!). We love you guys!!

Heartbreakers

When I see this picture...I just get emotional.

It doesn't get much better than this!
