Happy Easter

HAPPY EASTER FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS!!!
We hope your day was wonderful. I went with a "pink" theme this year for Easter...mostly because I am SOOO tired of cold weather that I needed a bright, happy, SPRING color. Funny story about this...Jackson is color blind. Brent told him that we were wearing pink, and Jackson said, "Dad, is this shirt pink?" Brent, being the team player that he is said, "No, it is gray." Jackson turned to me during church and said, "Mom, I am so glad I am wearing a gray shirt and not a pink one." I spent most of church hoping no one would "spill the beans".

Egg Hunt

We had a great Easter Egg hunt with some friends. Ryan really had a great time. Alas, we cannot get him to take the "lovey cape" off...I fear most of his pictures for the next several months will include "the cape".

Greek Festival

This was one of the most clever school projects EVER! Each student chose a Greek character, wrote a paragraph, and then gave a short presentation on their chosen Greek character. Jackson chose Zeus. The students stood on Mount Olympus (a desk) and gave their presentation. After all the presentations, they had a Greek Festival with food (grapes, bread, olives, juice, etc.). The students all LOVED participating. It was a very neat project.

Coloring Eggs

Happy Easter!
We had so much fun dying eggs. This hasn't been a yearly tradition for us, but we will definitely be making it one. The kids LOVED this. We used a PAAS monster kit...they had a great time making "monster eggs".

Phinally finisheD

I DID IT!!! I successfully defended my dissertation on March 31, 2014. I am officially Dr. Keele. This is my amazing Chair, Dr. Pat Alpert. She is truly incredible. It was an unbelievable experience.

Spring Break

We stuck close to home for spring break, but we did go to Denver with some friends. We had a great time at the Aquarium, the Museum of Nature and Science, and the Lego Store. I could not believe how brave Jackson was...he was so excited to feed the stingrays. Sometimes, the best vacations are the staycations.

Not a Haircut I wanted for her....

The first day of Spring Break, Ashton decided to give herself a mullet, which required immediate intervention--and a SHORT haircut. I was SOOOO upset. She was just able to wear her hair up in a bun for ballet. Everyone assures me this is a right of passage for a girl, but it was a sad, sad day (although I have to admit, she is beautiful with short hair).

Basketball

Jackson had a GREAT time playing basketball this year. He was a good defender.

Jackson's Baptism

We were so fortunate to have friends and family join us for Jackson's baptism on March 1, 2014. What a special day! We are so proud of Jackson, and the decision he made to be baptized. The room was PACKED. All of my family (except my dad, who couldn't make it) and Brent's brother's family (the Alan Keele family) came to support Jackson. We had a great time hosting everyone (yes...26 people in our home-what a BLAST!). We love you, Jackson.
