Ice Skating

I promised the kids I would take them ice skating. What was I thinking? I definitely misjudged the necessary novice kid-to-parent ratio. They had a great time (well, Ryan did the first 2 laps...after that, not so much).

Why did they not have these when I was learning to ice skate? BRILLIANT!!!
 Ashton was a PRO.

I had to include these drawings that Ashton made. They are of us ice skating. ToO CuTe!!
This one is a self-portrait of Ashton.
 This is Jackson ice skating.
This is Ryan and me ice skating. So precious.
I can't believe our break is over soon. We had LOTS of fun.

First Haircut

My sister gave me a good guilt-trip....I guess it was time for my baby to have a haircut...I mean, he is 2 and his name is not Sampson. He only cried for a minute, and then his brother and sister helped him out. And yes, I did save a lock of hair. I am a SAP!!!

An Ice Castle Get-Away

This might be one of the coolest winter events we've gone to (aside from the Olympics). We were able to make a quick stop to the Ice Castles in Midway, Utah during our winter break. It was definitely worth going to.
Lucky us! We were able to meet up with some very dear Reno friends. WE HAVE MISSED YOU!!!
It was a wonderful (but brief) trip...we can't wait to meet up again.

Holiday Lights

We braved the cold and visited the lights at the Spring Creek Gardens. They did a GREAT job. The kids had sooo much fun. I really enjoyed the flavored hot chocolate from Starbucks after.

 Really incredible displays.
...although I must admit, this display was my favorite!

Gingerbread Houses

One of our FAVORITE holiday activities!

This year, the kids really stepped it up. They built gingerbread castles, complete with legends, drawbridges, moats, and trap entrances. SO FUN!!
